Transitional dressing is an exercise in balance. The goal is to stay comfortable across shifting temperatures without sacrificing the clean lines that define a polished look.
Start with a breathable base — a fine-gauge knit or a cotton-poplin shirt — then add a mid-layer such as a unstructured blazer or a lightweight cardigan. Finish with an outer layer you can remove easily: a trench, a wool coat, or a cropped jacket.
Texture contrast keeps layered outfits from feeling heavy. Pair smooth silk with brushed wool, or crisp cotton with soft cashmere. Stick to a cohesive palette of two or three tones to maintain visual harmony.
Accessories complete the equation. A lightweight scarf, structured tote, or minimal belt can anchor the look while adding practical warmth when needed.
